Check the main feed, ignition feed, ground, and relay output

First, disconnect the blower motor relay and disconnect the blower motor 2P connector. With IG Mode OFF, check the +B_HTR_MTR circuit. The normal result is 12 V battery voltage. Next, with IG Mode ON, check the IG2_OPTION circuit. That also should show 12 V battery voltage. Then go back to IG Mode OFF and check the ground side and the BLOWER_MTR relay output side for opens. Each of those should be less than 1 Ω. If any result is abnormal here, treat it as a circuit problem. If the power supply check is abnormal, the next move is to locate the power supply failure; do not guess past an unclear connector or terminal point.

Check the BLW-M circuit

Next, disconnect the blower motor 2P connector and the power transistor 4P connector. With IG Mode OFF, check the BLW-M circuit for an open. The normal result is less than 1 Ω. After that, check the same BLW-M circuit for a short to ground. The normal result is not shorted. If either check is abnormal, stay with the wiring side of the diagnosis because the circuit has not passed yet.

Check the control-side ground, BLW-V, and BLW-G circuits

Now disconnect the power transistor 4P connector and climate control unit connector B (24P). With IG Mode OFF, check the GND, BLW-V, and BLW-G circuits for opens. Each one should be less than 1 Ω. Then check BLW-V and BLW-G for shorts to ground. Both should be not shorted. Any abnormal result in this group still points to a circuit problem, so correct the circuit fault before moving farther down the path.

Run the blower motor functional check

With the external circuit normal, move to the blower motor functional check. Disconnect the power transistor 4P connector. Connect power transistor 4P connector terminal No. 3 to body ground with a jumper wire, then turn the vehicle to the ON mode. The normal result is simple: the blower motor runs. If it does not run, there is a problem with the blower motor. This functional check can be done earlier because it covers the listed inspection items, but if it fails, continue testing the individual items so you know exactly which part of the path failed.
